They have to improve if.
Horrible customer service food was totally disgusting I spoke with the manager and he faked giving me a discount red beans taste like Tabasco Monfongo horrible don’t recommend
I was in La casa del Mofongo and there is a little mismatch in terms of music. I recommend paying due attention to it, except that it is not something to be alarmed about.
Yes!
It depends on what you mean early. But usually on Sundays at night there is music.
And
Good place to be on a Friday night if you're looking for music and dancing. Service is sometimes not the best, but their drinks are made well. Depending on the night, it could be a bit cramped in there.
Music is too loud. Ordered salmon, didn’t taste good. Asked waiter politely to change it for something else. Which he did. But had the audacity to tell me they tasted the food I returned and claimed there was nothing wrong with my fish... speechless, this was beyond me.
I havent been here in years and we just came back. The food is excellent just as I remembered. I tried the pulp mofongo and I was blown away by its taste. They offer hookah, that's a plus. The music and ambience is very entertaining. Their prices are a bit pricey but it worth it plus its nyc. Definitely come and visit. We will be coming back more often.
Im trying to find this place, the food is everything, service is wonderful as well.
Rude services!!!!! Called to make Reservations and since the lady doesn’t speak English she hung up the phone on me !!! Well lost service for 8+ family !!!!
Love it, love Washington Heights the culture is amazing. The food is great , this little place has almost anything Dominican cuisine has to offer, and great music. It is also open late.
The food was good, the Service was ok
Chicharrones were perfect (although containing too much fat in proportion to meat) but honestly disappointed with the mofongo itself. The texture lacked firmness and the flavor was somewhat missing the characteristic garlic scent to it. Fortunately you can request a garlic “agüita” which will stay in your breath for the next two days but adds a lot of flavor to the dish. A great thing is they have food & beverage HAPPY HOUR specials during weekdays. Great dominican atmosphere: the restaurant is divided between a bar area with loud music and a more family-friendly, traditional “restaurant” environment. As expected, Spanish is widely spoken so no need to know English.
Best paella on san nicolas ave! not a big fan of hookah smoke, though. great DJ's who takes "peticiones"!
Excellent food! I
Great Dominican food! Loved the Mofongo and their rotisserie chicken! Gets crowded though.
At the time to open Delivery _ order was incompleted but charged. The Sancocho was meatless, and gandules missing.
Great restaurant that with great food!! Came here during a late rainy night where almost all restaurants around the area were closed except for this one. Best place I could have gone. The food was great and at a really good price! Great drinks menu and the staff was really nice!!
Nice cozy place...food is good and pretty nice portion... drinks are good but have small glasses... menu is pretty long means lots of variety... service is good... price is not bad
So disappointed in this restaurant. I went to get a chicken. I was standing for more than 15 minutes waiting for the woman to take my order. They would just skip me and attempt people who came after me. Chicken overpriced and it wasn’t that good.
Skirt steak, delicious. Great service great food, clean, plus they put enough alcohol in the margaritas.
I took my coworkers here and they loved it. Great tasty food
The only reason I gave them a five was for the food. Absolutely delicious. The service sucked! On the other hand, They know how to really make Mofongo. We did not wait a really long time for our food, but our waitress took a while to bring us the menu and after she served us our food she disappeared. We had to hunt her down for water and even then she forgot to bring us some water. I would understand if they were busy, but we were there before the lunch hour rush. Word of advice if your going for lunch make sure to specify a lunch portion. Otherwise, they will give you a dinner portion which is so big two can actually eat out of one plate.
The food is good. Environment is decent. I find the music sometimes a bit loud for my taste. The service is average at best
Visiting NYC on holidays. This place was recommended. Glad we did. Excellent place to dine with friends and family. Food is authentic, and delicious!! The service is top notch!!! Will definitely be coming back! :)
Food was delicious, and nice portions. Service was friendly, but super slow. We got there at 11:30 it was after 12 when we got our food. Thank God I wasn't on a lunch break.
Beat shrimp mofongo in the game! Moist and amazing
Ambiance and food was good. service. ot so much. took way too long to get food. Had to bring it to waitress attention several times.
Ordered a turkey 🦃 here for Thanksgiving, and lest just say it tasted amazing! The pricing was reasonable as well! Definitely recommend this place if you’re late on holiday cooking. 5 stars from me
If i could give them a 0 i would... Food was dry and hard
Nices place to eat and drink in my Dominican language una vaina bien
The only thing good about this place was the food. Bad customer service, our waiter wasn’t friendly and didn’t pay any attention to our table to refill water or anything. She chose to only speak in Spanish and sadly I overheard her complaining to a coworker that she got the table that wanted to talk in English. Lastly she asks if we want to take our food to go...but didn’t pack all of our food. She only packed up my food and got rid of my fiancé plate with food on it. I won’t eat here again y definamente no lo recomendo para nada. There are other Dominican restaurants that are better and with better service to Spanish speakers and non-Spanish speakers.
Service great... Chicharon de pollo not my favorite
Very good food delicius..service exelent. Very fast
Don't go on a Monday night unless you want your ears to bleed from the Karoake singing so loud that you have to point your order on the menu to the waiter who hates his job. We left with a migraine but great food at least.
One of my favorite Dominican restaurants. The fried red snapper is a must. The tosotones are always hot, and the atmosphere is very lively. Whether you’re hosting family, or watching the game with the fellas, it’s a great spot to fellowship
I only go here for the breakfast special which is called tres golpes and it’s delicious. However, this place lacks customer service skills and it’s not organized at times. There are times people skip the lines and go to the front of the line.
Great Customer Service! Dominican Food Taste Great and the Music Excellent!
I loved participating in the Karaoke Mondays, having a nice social time
Our server was super cool. We ordered Sangria and didn't like it too much and she up and returned the whole bottle free of charge. The food didn't last too long and it tasted awesome just have a look a some of my pictures...Negatives are the bathroom is too far. The hookah area is too small and the bar shuts the music completely after 4am. I would be nice to at least keep listening to the music instead of the people noise. Also a fight broke out and security didn't take people fighting out side immediately!!!
The food was delicious. One thing I didn't like was that the greeter didn't walk us to our table. She just pointed upstairs and told us to go up. We were a party of 5 and I had made reservation. I really don't think this is a way to greet your customers. The food is very good but the service needs a lot if improvements.
I split the Dominican Paella with a friend tonight. Very hearty, yet not too heavy. I've been here before for the mofongo, and that's worth the trip. The food took a bit longer, but I didn't mind considering the overall fine quality of what I ate.
This place is good!!!! Reminded me of Puerto Rico for sure! Tons of food, reasonable price, fairly loud and fun. Ya have to get the mofongo!!!! Don’t miss out. The grilled chicken is a very good option as well.
So I woke up the other day really wanting Dominican food. So I drove from Jersey to Washington Heights(pregnancy cravings), looked up a few places on Google and settled with this one. I ordered rice and peas, baked chicken and pinto beans. I'm giving 4 stars because my beans were not in the bag when I got home. Also they didn't have have the white sauce for the chicken that I love. However my food was very delicious 😋. Also they have a great space for outdoor seating if you want to stay. For those ordering to go, they practiced social distancing as we gave our orders.
Not too good service but the food is great
Excellent food excellent service good environment. I recommend it
Went there this past weekend I am not a cheap person by any mean but I think is a RIP-OFF when they charged you $30 for "mofongo con churrasco" (for pickup) are the platano's made from gold?. $18 for longanisa con tostones, 18 dollars? I dont want to put a price on what anyone is selling but platanos are 4 for $1 at the supermarket for you to try to be slick with your prices. Needless to say we had to throw away the mofongo when we got home it was poorly made (no garlic nothing I dont even know what that taste like it was bad) & the churrasco was stewed meat I thought churrasco meat was supposed to be grilled🤔. More often then not the service sucks. Im done with this place (used to be my spot) never again way over price for the food and/or service...
We bought 4 mofongo de chicharrones from there last night the lady there had an attitude & was rude when we got home the mofongos we very dry & the salad was disgusting the chicharrones taste so nasty will never eat from that location ever again
Poor service and food was bad and too expensive
A little too dark of a setting.. food is amazing.. staff on point..
I came here on a first date on Wednesday and it didn't disappoint! The salad and chicken dishes we both had were delicious! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Will definitely be back!
If I could I would give them zero starts. I recently went with my husband and kids, never again. We waited over 45 minutes for our food and to top that off our server Stephanie forgot one of our orders. We had to wait another 30 min for spaghetti with chicken. When we first asked about how much longer our food would take she said my husbands burger was the delay because it took time. His burger wasn't all that big or thick to be taking 45 minutes to cook. When asked about my sons order she said "you didn't order anything else". It was our first and last time in this place.
I just want you guys to know one order can feed two people they serve a lot of food $$
Food is good but service is not so good when it comes to deliveries the lady on the phone is mad rude.
